Kizito Nii Amarh Amartey

Kizito Nii Amarh Amartey, professionally known as Kizitotheartist, is a Ghanaian contemporary artist, creative professional and educator with over two decades of experience in the Creative Arts Industry, Administrative Management and Strategic Management.

He developed an interest in art and creativity from an early age and later made a decisive transition from Business to Visual Art at Adisadel College. He went on to study at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he earned a BFA in Fine Art in 2010 with First Class Honours. He also holds an MA in Management and Administration from the University of Ghana Business School.

Kizito began his teaching career in 2003 as a Creative Art Teacher at Manna Mission Academy, where he trained and inspired students. During his national service, he worked with the Faculty of Art at KNUST as a Teaching/Studio Assistant. He later served as a lecturer and Dean of Students at Hill City College.

As an artist, Kizito has represented Ghana internationally and has exhibited and participated in artistic programmes in Ghana and abroad. In 2011, he represented Ghana at the 18th International Artist Festival for Young Artists in Gorgan, Iran, where he received an award for Best Outdoor Category Painting.

He has also curated exhibitions locally and internationally and collaborated with international creative professionals, including a 2020 collaboration with Abbey-Hart and Vicini Distanti of Bologna, Italy, where his paintings and designs were incorporated into a Fall-Winter fashion collection and runway show.

He currently works with the National Commission on Culture as a Cultural Officer responsible for Visual Art.
